Capstone Project

Made for Sneakerheads by a Sneakerhead

The premise of this app came from my own frustrations when buying and selling hyped sneakers through other conventional ecommerce sites such as StockX and Goat or eBay. These conventional sites offers the ability to make purchases on rare or hard to get sneakers, but often times the process from payment to actually getting the shoe in hand, can take up to a month. The other issue that occurs is what if the shoes arrive damaged? Or unauthentic? This is a huge pain point for people that want to cop the latest kicks. The Sneaker Exchange web-app gives people within the sneaker community another avenue to buying and selling their favorite kicks. Instead of waiting up to a whole month, you can buy or trade your shoes asap within your own local area! The Sneaker Exchange offers you the ability to meet up in person at a public place, and make these trades happen.

Capstone Project

The Sneaker Exchange is a project that I built using VueJS as the frontend framework and Ruby on Rails on the backend. The web application is geared towards people within the sneaker community to buy, sell and trade authentic sneakers within an area or location. Users can signup and make an account. Login and logout of their account. Users can buy and sell or trade sneakers. They do this by creating a listing and using the instant message feature to communicate with other users.
